NO TIME

If anyone actually checks this and cares what I do with my life and photography then just letting you know I will most likely not be updating this anymore. As I now have a full time job and am forced to share the computer I will now more frequently be updating on this:

http://bmhc-photography.tumblr.com/

Although the updates will only be brief (and most likley less 'professional'), it will still give u an idea of what I'm up to in the land of the Brits.

Thanks

Too Much..

Been really lazy and busy to update this thing.
im so far behinde there is so much i havent updated.
But i have been more frequently updating on tumblr
check it out:
http://bmhc-photography.tumblr.com/

And check out photos on my flickr:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/bmhc_photography/

But recently my hard drive fucked up, most likley due to a huge leak in the roof that caused alot of stuff in the room it was in to get wet. Which is goin to devestate me as all my photos ever are on there. Really should have backed my work up in more than one place!

Anyway seen quite a few bands since i last updated;

like

Wolf City from Reno, which is pretty much all the memebers of xAFBx's new band.

xAFBx's Last show
London's Special Move
Iron Age
& Rise And Fall
Also saw Madball last night, but only got like 3 shots as thier 'Possie' wouldn't let anyone use flashes, saying it was industry standard, when they were playin in a small pub venue...

Anyway also have had a few publications which ive been stoked on;

In the latest Big Cheese Magazine;

My pix were used for a page article on the London Tattoo Convention

(to view large click here)
Pretty stoked on that,
And also my good friends in Never Again are using one of my images on their fourth-coming 7"

Make sure you grap one as soon as it comes out later this year.

And finally the central image in this advertisement for Thirty Days Of Night Records I was pretty happy to see:

Lazy Fuck!

I have been so shit and lazy, but also busy. Which in turn leads to the fact that i haven't updated this thing in over a month. So I'll compensate for that with a less lazy summary of my last month in photos and text, for those who still actually read or care about my photos or what I have been doing;

(For some reason I now can't get my images for my flickr, so they aren't going to be as good quality, to see better quality go here)

Busy Times

Again I have been terrible with updating this thing. The combination of a full time job with the lil time outside of that seeing as much of the country,as well as friends and bands doesn't give me much time for anything else.
Anyway England has been awesome in the month and a half I've been here, met some sick people, seen some amazing bands and seen some amazing sites as well. My time to go back home is creeping sooner than I'd like. But here is another summary of the last few weeks.

Saw Death Before Dishonour two times in one weekend which was awesome seeming I had missed them first time around. First time with Arkangle (Belgium beatdown) and mates Hang The Bastards who I'm going to Paris with in a couple of weeks;

* Hang The Bastards

*Arkangle

* Death Before Dishonor

Then saw them again as apart of a big hardcore all dayer in Kent, with some good bands such as Brutality Will Prevail (Doomy Heavy Metalcore), Pay No Respect (Kent's Firstblood), Santa Karla (good stuff), TRC (London, Hip Hop hardcore), Hang the Bastards Again (Doomy Hardcore, with good riffs), Never Again (Good Straightedge Hardcore) and Run (Good dudes good music);

* Run
*Never Again

-supposedly this image is going to be used on a shirt of theirs and their up coming LP

* Santa Karla

* Hang The Bastards

* TRC

* Tara and Jack, Good Kids (so much sexual tension...)

* Brutality Will Prevail

* Death Before Dishonor

Been doing a lot more slow exposure (some may say too much), but I love playing around with it, like I did when i first started,

* Greebo, From Hang the Bastards
Also made my way down to Southampton to see that part of England and check out Misery Signals who are one of my fav bands and were amazing live, along with English metalcore leaders Your Demise and for the first time in England; The Number 12 Looks Like You from America (Crazy, Jazzy Metal/grind/death), who were a very strange and entertaining live band.

* Southampton Harbour

* Night Streets

* Locals. Koreac

* Number 12 Looks Like You (US)

*Your Demise

* Misery Signals

There is lots more like London Tattoo Convention 09, Ceremony & Paint It Black, My trip to Essex and St Albans And Grave Maker and This is Hell Pix in the next Post. Promise it'll be sooner this time.

Another jam packed two weeks, of shows, sorting out stuff like train passes and other certain things, especially as the idea of how expensive everything really is over here. I've spent so much on travel as it's triple the amount I was paying in Aus for a quarter of the distance. Just crazy. Luckily this train pass will cut 1/3 of the price. Also finally getting use to the idea that pretty much everything seems cheap, but is actually double the price as compared to the Aus dollar.
Anyway also been going to so many more amazing shows,
Was lucky enough to see Bane, Down To Nothing, Lewd Acts & Gold Kids 2 times which was sick;

-Gold Kids

-Lewd Acts

- Down To Nothing

- Bane

These shows were amazing, then luckily a few days later saw Polar Bear Club and Wilhelm Scream;

- A Wilhelm Scream

- "Tour", "Debt"

Alot of people in the hardcore punk scenes are Straightedge and Vegan, so many of my friends brought me along to the annual Vegan Festival which was great. Had some really tasty food, and learnt some interesting stuff;

Then after the vegan fest made it over to a show with local band Abolition, Jailbait, Dirty Money and Americans War Hungry and RZL DZL(who i had to leave early for to catch my train, which i missed anyway and had to catch a hour train pay £25 for a 5 min taxi);

- Abolition

- Jailbait
- Dirty Money

- War Hungry

Tomorrow off to see Death Before Dishonor which I'm keen for, and supporting them is Arkangel from Belgium and the good dudes from Hang the Bastard, who I'm doing promos of for their next Split with Brutality Will Prevail. Awesome bands.

2 Weeks In Summary

I am meant to give back this laptop and in turn the Internet tomorrow. So this may be the last post I can do until we get our Internet sorted. Which is taking longer than is meant to. Anyway here is a Summary of the last two weeks:

Been checking out a lot of museums (which are all free here) and sites:

* The Rosetta Stone

* The Thames

* Japanese Art

*Totema

* Section of the Berlin Wall

And so many international bands; like Hoods:

And Bringin' It Down, which are a Judge cover band with members of Judge and Project X;

And BOLD, Such a good band live;

* Set Your Goals.
It was First time I'd been to this venue and I didn't realise they were so strict on photographers. So i was able to sneak my camera in. But it meant i had to keep a low profile (No Flash). And as my camera is shit I got some very speckley pix. Which I think work well with some of these images.

* Trash Talk @ the Fighting Cock Pub

As well as seeing some really cool new local bands like:

Dirty Money

Hang The Bastards, Really good stuff, check them out

Battle Of Wolf

Cold Snap:

Vice City, Good Dudes

Also was lucky enough to check Bane And Down To Nothing two Days In A row. With Gold Kids, An amazing Italian Hardcore Band, And Lewd Acts, A crazy American band. Pix will be up soon.

A Week In America

Finally my external hard drive is all fixed, and luckily our really really nice South African next door neighbours let me borrow their computer and Internet for a week while their on holiday in Wales.
America was such a great time, only got a week there, staying on Venice beach, LA. Was such an interesting place, with great architecture, really weird and wonderful people and everything is so much cheaper. I Had A sick time.
From the start of the holiday, I could tell this was going to be an good one. At the airport my family was stopped before we got on the plane. This kinda worried me until we found out we had been upgraded to Premium Economy. Then after my entertainment system wasn't working, I was upgraded to Business Class. Was an awesome trip and i slept well.

*Watched Wolverine

*View From the Top

* L.A in all it's glory

On the way from the airport to the flat, saw some strange and interesting sites sites:

*Patriotism*(Chemist...)

Went shopping straightaway for supplies.

*ahh the sugary goodness

* Stuff Tastes Shit

Ended up eating so much shit while in America, two staples where:

*Breakfast

*3 Times a day

* View from roof of our apartment

Where we stayed literally was on the Venice Beach Board Walk, Was so good,

all along the beach front they had skate and bike 'freeways' which got you around pretty easily. So me and my brother Eddie:
* Miami Vice Stylin

spent the week often exploring. And went to some cool places and met some cool people:

*Exaggerated.

I thing I couldn't quite use to was how acceptable Weed was here, and how many dispensaries they had, like this:
And this
Which means there were also lots of these

which had a lot of these, strange alien bongs:

I was also surprised about how many tattoo parlours there were along the board walk:

They were all so friendly, but I spent most of my time at this particular parlour:

House Of Ink, They were really cool people working there, and I got to shoot some promotional stuff for some of the artists:

*Andrea Reverent

Felix

Also jus did some shots of Steve doing some work on some customers:

The skate park was jus down the road from where we stayed, so was really good to go down there and get back into some of my skating and also take some pix. Was a really good location, heaps good to go to in the arvos.

* Skater Dawg, He was so good to watch, all over the park.

* My brother took this, hence me watching him with my camera.

Also went to check out another local spot thats been featured in lots of skate movies, there was some young kids doing some sick stuff.

Later in the week we went to Universal Studios. Was very expensive, but worth it, the rides had such high production value, and had amazing effects.

* The Simpsons ride was a crazy simulator, So good, Such good graphics.
* It took three of these to get to one half of the park to the other

*Raging Hulk, and Eddie

*O.G, Blues Bros Car

The Jurrasic Park Ride was by far the best, I love the movie, and the ride was so good. Just a little short.

*Starts of Peaceful*Then goes to shit

* Then it ends like this:

* It was such a hot day, these things saved us, and some posing mexican kids too by the looks of it;* Surposedly Crash Bandicoot is a Universal Studios Character...

* Wall-E
* Surposed Marilyn Monroe look alike

* An another one, Made of Jelly Beans

*More Healthy food

The final day in America I was able to make a quick visit to the local freak show which was closed most of the time I was there, some strange stuff, like ;

*Conjoined Turtles
* Sword swollowing,( this guy was in the guinniess world record for youngest sword swollower and most sword swollows in a year which was 3,500 or something.)

* And A 5 legged dog amongst many other strange things.
I had an amazing time in America and having an amazing time still in England, Seen some great bands, seeing Trash Talk tomorrow, will get all the pics up soon.

Anticipation

It is now 15 hours before I leave the country. Ill be in America for a week then off to England for 5 months, then America for 3 weeks again on the way back. The last few weeks have been intense, a whole lot of packing and sorting out stuff not just what i need for England/America, but also every thin that I'm not taking away with me, that I'll need when I'm back to move to Brisbane, as my family would have totally moved out of the house to England.
Also what really has been taking a toll on me is the many potentially permanent goodbyes I've had to make to many people. Some who I have spent over half my life with, this is truly a defining moment in my life. But In a way I am really excited for what my future will hold. I'll Just have to see.
It has been a long time since I have updated anything on this, I have been working hard on getting my portfolio, sorted, print, mounted and sent away before i leave. Check it out here.
But I am going to make an extra effort to keep this thing up to date with my journey as I go along.
Anyway that's all i have for now. Keep checkin in.
