Micheal Jackson

Micheal Jackson's death has caused mixed responses between my friends, some loved him so much, have his albums and cried when hearing the news, some didn't give a fuck and made jokes about his death. But many like me respected him as an artist, who made a huge impact on many people and paved the way for many new music styles and genres (as anyone dose who has the worlds most successful album) but through out his career made many actions which could be seen as mistakes, But in the end he should be remembered for his achievements not his mistakes.

Anyway in other news, a lot has been going on in my life, I've been trying to sort out a whole lotta things but finally i think it's finally cleared up a bit. was watching This Is England last week and it got me keen for the fact that I'm going to England for 5 months at the end of Aug this year, with my mum and brother as my family is all moving there by the end of the year. But I'm only there for 5 months as when I get back I'm starting a 4 year course in Brisbane at the Sunshine Coast University/Tafe doing a duel course, Diploma of photomedia and bachelor of arts, major in Graphic design. So I'm Really keen for that, but it's starting to hit me that I don't have much time to spend with all my good friends till I'm gone.
This along with trying to get my second flash fixed, sorting out my Folio for uni and saving as much money as i can for my England trip hasn't left me with much time for photography.

But I did shoot my friends first show for Facebreaker a couple of weeks ago,

and also a few publications came out which i was keen to see how they turned out.
The first I was most keen for was the article about the Blue Mountains music scene published in Brag which featured a paragraph about me, which I really happy with.

and the second was a publication in the English webzine, Vanity, which was the live pics from the Bury Your Dead Show in Aug.

A Long Week

Again it has been awhile since I've posted anything, But it's been a busy week, I have a lot to write about and so alot for you guys to hopefully read.. Over Last Weekend I went up to Brisbane to get my tattoo finished by Rachi Brains at All Star Tattoos. I was really happy with how it turned out;

Saw my friend Josh on the plane going to get his tattoo finished by Rachi aswell, so he was able to show me where the private All Stars Parlour was and i took a few pix of the joint.

But while up there I decided to make a lil 'holiday' of it, so the first night did promos for xStrength Through Purityx, Funnest dudes, make sure you check em out, they'll be touring with xLiferuinerx From US around Aug. Anyway had a really great time and got some good results. Also was a good chance to test out my newly cracked photoshop CS3.

As soon as I got off the plane I took advantage of the rare situation of being in Sydney at a late time with money to spare and went to Brisbane to buy the camera and lense I have been planning to buy for awhile from Craig Nye, A Nikon F70 film SLR, with a 50mm AF lense.
Haven't had a chance to try it out, but i have played around with the lense on my digital, good shit.

Also after getting back from Brisbane had to sort out my shit for the Bare Your Teeth Exhibition comin up at the end of the month. Originally was goin to have 3 prints but ran outta money and time, so stuck with 2 pix; the oneof Sam From Ghost town, and the pic from Internal Affairs Last show in Syd. Some of my favourite pix from this year so far.


There are some good artists playing and displaying at the two day exhibition so make sure if your in Melbourne around the 29th-30th of this month (MAY) go check it out.

Escape

Again it's been awhile since I've shot anything, been busy with work and shit, had a really tough week, so looking forward to going away to Brisbane for my first time this weekend to get my tatt finished;

...By Rachi Brains. Also while down there shooting xStrength Through Purityx Promos and shooting some live photos of provoke which will sick, and of course taking photos of Bris it self.
So will be a really good escape.

Also this week 'Nath' from the band Cutloose who I did promos for awhile ago, showed me this;
which I pretty stoked on, as it is my first offical newspaper publication (on newspaper website and in physical newspaper)

And Again another American band has become been caught by Australia's 'Bermuda triangle curse' , just like Verse when they were here for Boys of Summer earlier this year, Have Heart have announced thier break up and are playing some of thier last few shows her in Aus, so make sure u come check em out;
